The Xia dynasty was an early traditionally recorded dynasty around 2000 BCE to 1600 BCE in ancient Chinese history books. This so-called Xia dynasty was said to be founded by “Yu the Great” and lasted for about four hundred years before the establishment of the Shang dynasty.
Since the story of “Yu the Great” flood control was the story of Xuanyuan GongSun(Xuanyuan Huangdi), the existence of the so-called Xia dynasty became questionable. During a few meditations, I asked about this period of time and GOD Michael commented that Yao1 尧 is a god and he was the leader of the ZhongGuo Tribal Confederation/Alliance prior to about 2000 BCE. (Similar to the Pallasgian civilization, the ancient ZhongGuo civilization was in decline and the Yao’s period of time was not in its heyday2. )
My understanding is that the rulers of an ancient barbarian clan(Yu was one of them), influenced by Satan, invaded the ZhongGuo Tribal Alliance area during a flood recovery period of time. Around 2000 BCE, they occupied more lands in ZhongGuo, killed countless people, burned temples, palaces, destroyed cities with all records of Zhong Guo. Subsequently, they founded the Xia dynasty, putting the ancient Chinese people under their rulers/Satan’s enslavement.
Later, the Shang rulers, who were from a part of the same barbarian group, had a power struggle with the Xia rulers and overthrew the Xia rulers around 1600 BCE. (In a sense, we can also call the Xia dynasty as an early Shang dynasty. )
The Chinese people were deceived to think that they were also descendents of the Xia dynasty. (The word “HuaXia” （华夏）civilization is still often being quoted as another name of the origin of China.) In actuality, the Chinese people were being occupied/enslaved during the Xia dynasty and the Shang dynasty. (What the Xia and Shang rulers did was the same as the Roman emperors did, they destroyed all records about Zhong Guo’s existence and let the Chinese people think that the Xia and Shang rulers were ZhongHua/ZhongGuo people and Yu was a “saviour” of people from the flood. )
Many people from ZhongGuo retreated to the northern border area of ZhongGuo because of the invasion around 2000 BCE, these people in the north was led by the ancestors of King Wen of Zhou and King Wu of Zhou, who overthrew the Shang dynasty later around 1000 BCE. By the Zhou dynasty, lots of information were lost and most Chinese people as early in the Zhou dynasty didn’t know the truth about the Xia or Shang dynasty.

Note 1: Since most last names in China pre-existed before the Xia-Shang dynasty, from the last name, one can’t tell whether one was from the Shang people.

- There was a regional flood caused by a damaged dam during Yao’s time but it was relatively very small as compared to the Great flood. The distorted legend likely mixed elements of the Great flood from Xuanyuan’s story with some elements from Yao’s(尧) story and attributed the story to “Yu the Great”. Emperor Shun was anther tribal leader, a negative person and not a successor of Yao as some history book described. Also, some stories of Yao attributed to an early Shang ruler named “Shang Tang”(“商汤”). ↩︎
Below is a picture of Shimao(石峁) site that people left behind around 2000 BCE. I guess they were invaders who invaded and moved to the middle part of China and founded the Xia dynasty. They practiced the same human sacrifice like the Shang rulers.
